London Purple

  • London Purple qualified for the finals by finishing 7th at playoffs. They finished 6th at the South Central Qualifier.

    An international team coming off a successful season, London Purple are looking to finish the year with a good result at the BUSA finals.

    The first helm is Will Robinson, with four years of team racing experience. His crew is Ines Cruz Blanco from Madrid, fresh from 4th place in the laser radial section of the King's cup.
    The second boat is helmed by Andy Smith, veteran of national squads. His crew is Luc Hogan, with 11 years of experience sailing multiple classes.
    Our third boat is helmed by Matt Thornton, a calm and calculated paramedic-in-training with his crew Caspar Bartscherer, a German PhD law student.

    The team is relatively new with none of the sailors having been to a university team racing event before this year! They have come a long way in 5 months and are hoping that their recent performance stands them in good stead to thrive at these finals.
